Name: Sarah Gibbs
Died: December 19, 2014
Age at death: 34
Cause of death: Homicide (Assault)
Location: Warsaw, Indiana, USA
Sarah Gibbs, age 34, was a friendly woman who never forgot a face. Her first words were, “Sign here become a millionaire,” the first words of her favorite record album. In adulthood she lived in her own apartment and walked everywhere she went.
Reporters interviewed an autism professional who had worked with Sarah thirteen years ago:
“She did not forget a single person,” said Gibbs’ friend, Michelle Warrix. “Even working with her 13 years ago, I could run into her and she would know exactly who I was and come up and say hi and give me a hug and just kind of stand there and do her usual Sarah smile.”
Her parents remember her as “sweet and innocent, no enemies. [She] wouldn’t know how to be unkind.”
Sarah’s body was found by the firefighters who were called to put out her blazing apartment. She had been dead when the fire started, and the death has been declared a homicide.
Her murder is still unsolved. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at (574) 288-STOP or the Warsaw Police Department at (574) 372-9511.
