Chance Vanderpool

Name: Chance Vanderpool.
Died: November 22, 2016.
Age at death: 4.
Cause of death: Fatal abuse; skull fracture.
Location: Glen St. Mary, Florida, USA.

Details:
Chance and three of his brothers, including his two-year-old little brother, lived with their mother. Five months before his death, his mother’s boyfriend moved in with them. He was controlling and violent and beat both boys; Chance had to go to the hospital twice for head injuries. Each time his mother said they had been accidental.

On the morning of November 22, Chance was found unresponsive and taken to the hospital, but he could not be revived. Doctors found that he had a skull fracture, and saw that his body had bruises and a burn. They became worried for Chance’s surviving three brothers.

Chance’s little brother had been taken to the hospital along with Chance. When doctors examined the two-year-old, they found injuries consistent with abuse.

Chance’s three brothers were taken into state care; his mother’s boyfriend was arrested for child abuse.
