Police received a call from Cara’s home in which her father said he had killed his family. At the home, police found Cara’s body, along with that of her mother Candace and her brother Aaron. Cara’s father was arrested, telling police he had wanted to kill himself but could not go through with it.

After Christian’s mother was found “unresponsive with life-threatening injuries” in a parking lot, police checked their apartment and found Christian’s body. His cause of death is still unknown. Neighbors said Christian’s mother was worried about “lack of support” for him.
Neighbors remember seeing Christian sitting with his mother in their car, playing music. His mother’s Facebook page includes many posts about alternative medicine and dietary supplements.

Amari went missing from a hotel where her family had been staying. Several days later, she was found dead in the woods fifteen miles away, the victim of a homicide. Police who questioned her mother and her mother’s partner say their statements were inconsistent and untruthful; the two were arrested on suspicion of having caused Amari’s death.
Amari’s siblings, age 5 and 6, were removed from the home. Her mother was charged with child cruelty, concealing a death, and making a false police report; her mother’s partner was charged with murder and child cruelty.

Izzy, a fifth-grader, was constantly bullied at school for being autistic and being black. She reported the bullies multiple times; the school did nothing, and a teacher even joined in. Her mother talked to the principal; again, nothing was done.
Isabella died by suicide at the age of 10.

Location: Augusta, Maine, USA.
Dustin lived at a homeless shelter when he had a fight with another resident. Staff called the police, who fatally shot Dustin. The other resident was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say Dustin was holding a knife, but Dustin’s family and neighbors say they should have tried to defuse the incident without killing Dustin. “He needed help,” a neighbor says, “…but nobody was helping him.”
