Details:
Cameron’s mother and brother allegedly conspired to kill him–first by medication overdose, then by stabbing him with a knife. Cameron died from his injuries. After being treated for self-inflicted injuries and discharged from the hospital, Cameron’s mother and brother were arrested. Both were charged with murder.

Police say Cameron’s brother said Cameron would be better off dead because the family’s financial hardships were insurmountable.

Kathryn Newhouse

Name: Kathryn “Katie” Newhouse.
Died: March 19, 2022.
Age at death: 19.
Cause of death: Homicide-suicide (Shooting).
Location: Canton, Georgia, USA.

Details:
Katie’s friends remember her as a kind young woman who was always smiling, even when life became difficult. She was proud of her Filipino heritage. She played Minecraft and UberSpire, and, as a trans woman, was an advocate for trans rights. She enjoyed hiking and sightseeing. Her motto was, “Model best behavior in your own sphere, break down stereotypes, and speak out.”

When she was sixteen, Katie’s father had been arrested and charged for holding her down on her bed by her throat; but the charges were dropped. When she was nineteen, Katie’s father shot her, and then killed himself.

Bryleigh Klino

Name: Bryleigh Klino.
Died: February 25, 2022.
Age at death: 17.
Cause of death: Neglect (Unspecified; death in the setting of neglect, severe bedsores).
Location: Auburn, New York, USA.

Details:
Bryleigh, who had Rett syndrome, loved the cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants and would watch it as much as she could. Many of her things were SpongeBob-themed. She also enjoyed listening to country music and traveling.

When Bryleigh died, hospital personnel noticed that she had severe, untreated bedsores and called the authorities, who arrested Bryleigh’s parents and charged them with endangering the welfare of a child.

Brieuc Paquet

Name: Brieuc Paquet.
Died: February 18, 2022.

Cause of death: Homicide-suicide (Gunshot).
Location: Beaufays, Liège, Belgium.

Details:
Brieuc’s father shot him with his hunting rifle, then killed himself. Brieuc’s mother found their bodies.

Editor’s note: Like Katie McCarron’s mother, Brieuc’s father was a doctor. One wonders whether they paid attention in medical school when they were taught, “First, do no harm.” His patients seem to be fine with it, though; reportedly, they still remember him as a wonderful doctor.

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA.

Details:
Jamie lived with his mother and two-year-old little sibling. On the day he died, neighbors saw him running down the street, with his mother chasing him; then she caught him and brought him back into the house. Two hours later, police were called to the house, found Jamie stabbed to death, and arrested his mother on suspicion of murder. Jamie’s little sibling was unhurt.
