Name: Eric Torell.
Died: August 2, 2018.
Age at death: 20.
Cause of death: Police shooting (Holding toy gun).
Location: Stockholm, Sweden.
Eric had Down syndrome and autism; he didn’t speak much, but he could say the word “Mum”.
When he left home, his family reported him missing. But when the police found him, Eric was holding a cheap plastic toy gun; so when he didn’t respond to commands to put down the gun and lie on the ground, the police shot him dead.
“You can see a mile away he’s got Down syndrome… he wasn’t capable of being threatening,” his mother said. “The only thing he could do was to hug and kiss.”
