Dougie Gibson

Name: Dougie Gibson.
Died: January 4, 1971.
Age at death: 13.
Cause of death: Murder (Shot).
Location: Santa Barbara, California, USA.

Details:
Dougie's father was an aerospace machinist; his mother was the secretary of the California chapter of the National Society for Autistic Children. He was an unusual child from the start, escaping his playpen at six months and toilet-training himself at twenty months. He liked to line up his toys and enjoyed spinning pot lids.

Despite his inability to use language, Dougie had a knack for machinery, perhaps inherited from his father. He learned to work the washing machine at two years old. As a toddler, he fell in love with music and taught himself to operate the family's complicated stereo system. He loved Coke and french fries, but couldn't stand the sound of airplanes.

Dougie was shot to death by his father when he was thirteen years old.
