Timothy was brought to the emergency room with a skull fracture, and four days later he died of brain trauma caused by that head injury.

It looked like Timothy Ellis Jr. had been killed by his father, who confessed to the crime. However, the judge ruled that the confession had been coerced, and the case was thrown out of court.

Whether the boy was killed by his father or by someone else, it is obvious from his injuries that he died due to fatal child abuse, and his father is still the prime suspect. At last report, the Navy was considering trying the case because Timothy’s father had been in the Navy, which made Timothy a Navy dependent.
