Details:
Lachesta, called Shasta by her family, lived with her mother, stepfather, sister, her sister’s boyfriend, and her little two-year-old nephew. Her mother and stepfather were disabled, too.
On the day Shasta died, her sister’s boyfriend assaulted her sister, and her mother tried to protect her. Angry, the boyfriend shot Shasta’s mother, her stepfather, and Shasta herself. He kidnapped Shasta’s two-year-old nephew. After a standoff which ended in his kidnapper’s arrest, the little boy was found safe. His mother recovered from her injuries, grief-stricken from having lost three family members in one day.
The killer was given four life sentences for murder and kidnapping. He will not be eligible for parole.
