Details:
Maggie lived with her sister, who was her caretaker. When her sister brought Maggie to the emergency room, severely injured, she claimed that Maggie had inflicted the injuries on herself. Maggie did have a history of self-injury, but the injuries she had were not self-inflicted. She had bruises and broken bones at various stages of healing. Her fingers had been nearly amputated.

The injury which brought her to the emergency room was massive head trauma, which ended in her death two days later.
